THE WORD FOR TODAY - WHAT IS YOUR ATTITUDE TO THE WORD

“In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. He was with God in the beginning. Through him all things were made; without him nothing was made that has been made."
-John 1:1-3 (NIV)

Our attitude to the Word of God will determine our altitude in LIFE; we need to come to the point as children of God where we take God at His Word. Most often we have the head knowledge of God's Word, we have several promises from God, but it doesn't make much difference in our day to day life, it is not just enough to know or listen to the Word, but we need to work the Word as to get results in our lives.
Matt 7: 24-27 (MSG)“These words I speak to you are not incidental additions to your life, homeowner improvements to your standard of living. They are foundational words, words to build a life on. If you work these words into your life, you are like a smart carpenter who built his house on solid rock. Rain poured down, the river flooded, a tornado hit—but nothing moved that house. It was fixed to the rock. “But if you just use my words in Bible studies and don’t work them into your life, you are like a stupid carpenter who built his house on the sandy beach. When a storm rolled in and the waves came up, it collapsed like a house of cards.”
It is wisdom to obey God’s Word without questioning or reasoning, Abraham enjoyed the benefits of obeying God’s Word, God made a permanent covenant him and called him His friend. We need to allow the Word of God to richly dwell in us, His Word cannot fail, His Word is potent and will always produce results.
It is foolishness to know the medication for a life threatening ailment and have the medication and not use it, it is not enough to know God’s Word, we must act on it.
Joshua 1:8 affirms that our success is in our hands, success in every area of our lives comes by totally obeying the dictates of the scriptures, even when it does not make logical sense.

Confession
The Word of God dwells richly in me, divine grace to regard and obey God’s Word is my portion. I cannot fail, because God’s word cannot fail. Halleluyah!
