The Word for Today - IGNORE THE INVITATION?

"The beginning of Wisdom is: get Wisdom (skillful and godly Wisdom)! And with all you have gotten, get understanding (discernment, comprehension, and interpretation)”.
-Proverbs 4:7 (AMP)

Our text makes us to understand, that wisdom is the principal thing, it should be the first in order of importance in all that we strive to acquire. Joseph exhibited a great level of this wisdom, he refused to attract pity to himself or wallow in self-pity, he totally ignored the invitation to a pity party, he knew he had a great destiny and refused to major on his challenges. Genesis 41:14, "Then Pharaoh sent and called Joseph, and they brought him hastily out of the dungeon. But Joseph shaved himself, changed his clothes, and made himself presentable; then he came into Pharaoh's presence. "Notice what the bible said Joseph first did, 'He shaved himself..., and made himself presentable. Often times, Christians are overtly spiritual to think things like this are not important, he was presented with an opportunity and decided to make the best of it by applying divine wisdom, he could have gone into Pharaoh's presence dirty and looking dejected in self-pity, and most likely Pharaoh might have not listened to him or even if he did, he wouldn't have made him the ruler over all. Some people would rather appear in such a way that people will pity them, they tend to wallow in pity and always talk about how bad things are for them, how they have been suffering, and you know that if you get into their company they will bore you with the same story of how things have worked against them. This attitude will make you stagnant in life. If Joseph had wallowed in self pity, he would have remained in the prison all his life, he rather prepared himself and got ready for the vision God gave him by applying wisdom in practical terms. Your circumstance is not being underrated, but everyone has different challenges at one point in time in their lives, but what keeps some moving and other stagnant is the ability to get up, grow up and move on. Our appearance is important, but applying wisdom goes well beyond dressing. It is knowing what to do with every opportunity presented to us.

Confession
